Fitting a Stick It wrap takes about five minutes and nothing more than a pair of scissors. Get one detail right — which end goes where — and it'll sit perfectly for years.

The one thing most people get wrong
Every wrap is cut with a taper — a thick end and a thin end. The thick end is meant to tuck up under the grip for full coverage. Only the thin end (the bottom) gets trimmed to length. If you cut the thick end off, the remaining film is too narrow to wrap fully around the widest part of the shaft — so always start from the top.
Step by step
- Clean the shaft. Wipe it down so it's free of dust and oils — the wrap grips best on a clean surface.
- Start at the top. Line the thick end up just under the rolled-back grip and begin wrapping from there.
- Work down in a spiral. Keep light tension and overlap slightly as you go, smoothing out air as you turn.
- Trim the thin end. Once you reach the bottom, cut the thin end to length with your scissors.
- Press it home. Run your fingers over the whole shaft to seat the film.
